This past Sunday night, we experienced a partial eclipse of the sun, sometimes referred to as the 'ring of fire'. We used a pair of binoculars to view them. No, we didn't view the eclipse by looking through the binoculars. We used them to refract the rays onto a piece of paper, kind of like the 'pinhole' idea -only this time using the prism of the binocs to refract the rays and the lenses to project them on paper.... Warning: Don't ever use binoculars to look at the sun during an eclipse. You will go blind and won't even feel any pain in the process.
