Swim anyone?

This is not what you might think. It was a chemical reaction between the high iron levels in our well water and the chlorine "shock" treatment we gave the pool to take care of a bit of algae. Almost 30 minutes after we added the extra chlorine we looked out the window and saw this 'tea' coloured water and wondered what in the world was happening.

It is treatable. It's being filtered through now with the use of a special bonding agent that binds the iron while it goes thru the filter. The brown is already getting lighter. In the meantime, we shall wait the outcome. Hopefully we won't have a heat wave in a couple of days.

How does it look now? We're "house-sitting" a place in Orangeville right now, and it has a pool and a hot tub. It's been a real hardship in this hot weather, I tell you. :) Have you been able to enjoy the pool yet?

Oh - we've enjoyed it a lot! We just don't worry about the colour. I just needed to know that it wasn't something dangerous and then I was fine with it. It's lightened quite a bit b/c of the chemical we put in it, but if it's safe I dont' want to fill it with chemicals just to make it look nicer......
Kara's been taking care of a neighbour's place, too, and they also have a nice pool - she's been milking it for all it's worth :)

Forgot the adage: "Please don't pee in our pool. We don't swim in your toilet." We thought of putting a sign up with that saying, but we figure it doesn't matter now. hee hee ;)
