One year ago, I was called to Providence (June 6, 2010). One year ago, we were checking out the church. A year ago, Cher and I flew up here for a weekend. A year ago, we went driving up & down Henderson Hwy while our hosts showed us a few places. A year ago, we went through Bird's Hill town as part of the tour, never thinking for a moment that we would actually buy a house near this town. One year ago, I preached my first sermon here for Profession of Faith (June 20, 2010) on Luke 15, the parable of the two sons. Almost a year ago we accepted the call (July 2/2010) after a heartwrenching time of searching out His will and seeking to do what He wanted us to do, whether to continue to serve the needs at Hope or to heed the call to come over and help with the needs here. Time has gone quickly! Here we are a whole year later and we again are celebrating 4 Professions of Faith this coming Lord's Day!
Since our arrival in October 2010, a lot has happened. We've gone through a lot of changes and had to adjust to some different things. But from where we are now a year ago today, we see God's amazing providence and goodness. He is faithful and kind. He has given us the privilege to serve Him by bringing us here among people whom we love and cherish and who are dear to our hearts. He is blessed me with the opportunity of bringing His Word here, the most awesome calling on earth! And it's been an awesome journey!
God is indeed is good and has blessed us in many ways!
